General approach

Bazaar Systems undertakes many types of work, from general support in the domestic market to specialised consultancy in the professional IT arena.

Our charges differ depending on the type of work, and, quite frankly, whether it's interesting!

Domestic and small business work is charged by the hour to the nearest quarter hour, with travelling extra ouside of our immediate area.  Professional IT work is charged by the day.

Domestic and Small Business rates

This is for work involving domestic PCs or small business servers, home or small networks, laptops, broadband, wireless networks, and email clients that use an ISP-based server.    If you have more than around 10 computers, or your own email or web server, you are probably not a small business and certainly not a domestic customer.

We charge £30 an hour , to the nearest quarter hour. (So an hour and a quarter would be £37.50)

Most domestic and small business jobs take less than a couple of hours.   (But be prepared, things like major virus infections can take many hours to sort out. In these circumstances we will let you know as early as we can what your options are.)  If you have any doubts, please feel free to ring us to describe your problem, we can probably give an estimte over the phone.

If you need a lot of work done, requiring many hours, it is slightly cheaper to allocate a whole day.  We normally work 7.4 hours a day to conform with European law, which would be £225, but only charge £200 if we work a full day.

Travelling

This is the area immediately around Goostrey. The circle is around 7 miles radius. We normally don't charge for travelling in this area. However please use the map as a guideline only as very few of the roads around here travel in staight lines.  

Above 7 miles we charge at £1 a mile to get us to your premises.  So if you need us to travel 10 miles to where you are, you pay £10 to get us there, and we drive back at our own cost.

Call-out rates and Working Hours

We have no call-out charges, as such. But there will be a minimum charge of £15 for the first half hour plus any travelling fees if they apply (see above)

Our normal working hours are from 09:00 to 19:00 Monday to Friday.   Outside of those hours our charges double.  So early morning, late evening, or weekend work, costs £60 an hour.

Remote Assistance and Telephone support

We offer a Remote assistance service to customers for some types of problem.  This is where we can adjust your computer from here in Goostrey using remote control over the Internet.  For quick simple problems this is a very effection solution that doesn't incurr travelling charges.  However this can't be used in all circumstances:

• If the system requires mutiple reboots, like removing a virus.
• If the problem needs something physical like installing an ADSL filter in the right place.
